San Diego City Councilmember District 3, Todd Gloria, graduated summa cum laude from University of San Diego in 2000 with majors in history and political science. While a student at USD, Gloria was active in the efforts to add "sexual orientation" to the campus nondiscriminatory policy and has since then been a champion of GLBTQ rights in San Diego.
This historic anniversary celebration fundraising event reflects the University of San Diego's identity as a Roman Catholic, liberal arts university through the Core Value of Community:

The University values students, faculty and staff from different backgrounds and faith traditions and is committed to creating an atmosphere of trust, safety and respect in a community characterized by a rich diversity of people and ideas."
